Whenever I’m taking notes in class, I have to have a note book and a pencil, like I really dislike taking notes on my laptop and I have no idea why that is. Same thing goes for writing an essay, I could never write my school papers on my iphone, even though I very well could, there is just no way I can bring myself to do it. I don’t know if any of you have this same feeling, but I have talked to Professor Eric Plattner and he said that he requires a typewriter so that he could make his poems. He refuses to use a computer…I forgot the exact reason why but I’m sure it had to do with something along the lines of losing it’s value or the experience just isn’t the same.
Same thing goes for reading! I much rather read something that I am able to grab with my hands than what’s on a screen. Even though it’s way more hurtful on Earth, I much rather read some information on paper rather than the computer. I honestly have no idea why that is, but those are just my weird literacy preferences.
I wonder if we all have that kind of tick in our brains’ or if just some of us are crazy.

I actually conducted a research study on this subject for one of my Psych classes this quarter. Hand written notes help you retain information from lectures much more effective than typed notes. This is because it forces you to process the information then write it down in your own words, instead of just typing verbatim, which helps your brain form long-term memories.
