Sponsors of My Literacy – Riley

By February 7, 2018BlogPost

In figuring out who the sponsors of my literacy are, I identified a majority of school and education related institutions. I was in selective enrollment programs from middle school to high school and was selected to partake in an early college program. All of these programs had a vested interest in my literacy practices that were fostered within the institution. The Macomb Academy of Arts and Science was partially funded by corporations that were seeking to develop students that have skills in scientific, methodological research. In the Early College of Macomb program, they held specific seminars on writing in college, how to read collegial level materials, and how to succeed as a student in a post-secondary education. I also identified several sponsors of literacy such as my family, the church that I attended during childhood, and other organizations outside of school such as FIRST robotics or the Computer Programming Club that developed literacy skills outside of school. I also identified workplaces that have actively developed my literacy skills through training, seminars, and meetings that are specifically suited for their needs.
